Mainstay Kim Simmonds died Sept 13th, at age 75. This album featured "Lonesome" Dave Peverett on vocals, after Chris Youlden left the previous spring. Simmonds would be the only member to continue with the band after this album, as all other band members left to form Foghat the following year.
Mainstay Kim Simmonds died Sept 13th, at age 75. // This was the first album released after guitarist Lonesome Dave, drummer Roger Earl, and bassist Tone Stevens allleft, to form Foghat. This left Kim Simmonds as the only remaining member. Simmonds recruited a new line-up, predominantly members of the blues band Chicken Shack.
He was known as "The Tan Canary" for the multi-octave range of his singing voic; he died Dec 22nd, at age 79. / He won a W.C. Handy Award for the album.

Comment:
In an interview in 2011, Dammers explained what he was trying to convery:
" The overall sense I wanted to convey was impending doom. There were weird, diminished chords: certain members of the band resented the song and wanted the simple chords they were used to playing on the first album. It's hard to explain how powerful it sounded. We had almost been written off and then "Ghost Town" came out of the blue. "
