Irish Folk Band from Dublin, founded as a trio in 1963 by brothers Brian & Derek Warfield, and their friend Noel Nagle. they take their name from Theobald Wolfe Tone, one of the leaders of the Irish Rebellion of 1798, with the double meaning of a "wolf tone" – a spurious sound that can affect instruments of the violin family.
The album was dedicated to the memory of guitarist Foggy Lyttle {died Dec 25th, 2003}, who also played with Sinéad O'Connor, The Chieftains, Marianne Faithfull, Harry Nilsson, Phil Everly and Gene Pitney // #17 on The Rolling Stone "Top 50 Records of 2005."
