For the death this past Saturday, Sept 10th, of Brother Cleve (real name - Robert Toomey), who played with the group. // * - It was nominated for an Academy Award, as "Best Original Song", but was eventually disqualified because of its incomprehensible lyrical content. The reply by the Music Branch Executive Committee chairman stated that "A special meeting was held recently to view the video clip of your song, and the music cue sheet and vocal lead sheet were carefully followed. The following decision was reached: The song "Vertigogo" was declared ineligible in your category because the lyric was not intelligible". This stood, despite the fact that Combustible Edison submitted their best written approximation of the lyrics.
