If you want to learn more about A Tribe Called Quest and the golden age of hip hop, you should read the book Go Ahead in the Rain by Hanif Abdurraqib. It's wonderful.
RIP Eddie Ade Knowles, who passed away last week and was Gil Scott-Heron's percussionist on some of his most well-known songs. He also taught an Afro-Cuban Percussion class I took at RPI in 2006 and was a capital-g Good Guy.
